Employee attributes

Why employer’s value it

Specific attributes

1.       How to operate a database
I think this is important because I need these skills to be able to show the clients how to operate the talking books.
This volunteer job involves working with IT and software. So I would need to know how to operate a database properly before I can help someone use this.
General attributes

1.       General (soft skill)
Communication
I would need to be able to communicate verbally with clients and employers. E.g I need to explain to the clients how to use the audio books properly in a way in which they can understand.
All employers would like their new employees to be able to communicate properly with clients and other employers. To be able to communicate is good as then you will be able to get your ideas across to other in the business and also persuade and  explain to clients for the company what it is they actually do.

  Personal attitudes

       1.Independance
Rainbow Light you will be able to work on your own which would be important as you would be required to go and create the ‘talking books’ on your own for the clients and then you need to be able to talk to people on your own and help them with IT without anyone else telling you what to do.
Employers like employees who can think for themselves they can get on with what they have to do for their job and don’t feel the need to constantly be told what to do. In rainbow light you would be required to work on your own most of the time as part of your job requires you going out an explaining how to use the audio books to the clients of Rainbow light.
       2.Confidence
In Rainbow light you are required to talk to your clients and give them advice on how to use IT this means that you have to be able to be confident.
This will be beneficial to Rainbow light as if you have employees that are nervous or unsure about what they do they will take longer to complete the work and the work will not be completed to the best quality. You want someone that can do what they say they can do.
